We are a small but ambitious charity with big things we want to accomplish.

Now in our 10th year, we are embarking on an exciting new phase of our development where we are consolidating and building on everything we have accomplished to date. We want to strengthen the organisation to support our aim of transforming the lives of people who have experienced trauma related to systemic inequality.

As we enter this next chapter, we’d like to expand our board to seven or eight members (from five). This is in part to widen the skill set of trustees following a skills audit, and in part to ensure new rigor as we grow as an organisation. We’re looking for people who can bring confidence in their skill sets, who are not afraid to challenge and speak with honesty with the aim of supporting the sustainable growth of FfC in a nurturing way.

We are actively seeking applications from people who are typically excluded or absent from boards and charity governance as a result of discrimination and systematic racism in British culture.

Timings

In order to ensure we find the right people to join our board, we are keeping the recruitment open. The application process is detailed below:

  • Expressions of interest: End of Feb 2024
  • Initial conversations with chair and/or chief executive: Early Mar 2024
  • Join a board meeting as a guest: May 2024
  • First board meeting: July 2024
